Weekly Gift Card Shootout — Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. This is a free contest of skill; prizes are awarded on head-to-head racing performance, not chance. Every entrant gets the same number of free entries.
Last updated: September 30, 2026 · Version: 2026-09-30-draft-v2 · Sponsor: NumberEdge Racing LLC, Kansas City, Missouri
Draft: pending attorney review
These Official Rules are a working draft and have not yet been reviewed by counsel. Prize amounts, the gift card brand, the excluded-states list, the entry limit, the bracket schedule and the contest start date are placeholders and may change before the first contest week. The version shown at the time you enter applies to that week.
1. Sponsor
The RacePTL Weekly Gift Card Shootout (the “Contest”) is sponsored by NumberEdge Racing LLC, Kansas City, Missouri (“Sponsor”). Contact details are in the site footer. The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any gift card issuer, Apple, Google or any social network.
2. Eligibility
- Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority where they live, if older) at the time of entry.
- Excluded states (placeholder, pending counsel): residents of WA, ID, NV, MI, AZ, IA, LA, MT, SC, DE, CT, ME are not eligible. The current list is always shown on the Contest page at entry.
- You must have a RacePTL account with a verified email address and a date of birth on file.
- One person, one account. Each eligible person may claim up to 5 free entries per Contest Week through their one account (the limit for each week is shown on the Contest page). Entries are free, identical for everyone and never sold. Multiple accounts, shared accounts, or entries made on behalf of someone else are prohibited and void all of that person’s entries.
- No bots, scripts, macros or automated input of any kind. Entrants must race with their own reflexes, in person.
- Employees, officers and contractors of Sponsor, and members of their immediate families or households, are not eligible to win.
- Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
3. Contest period
Each contest week begins Monday at 12:00:00 AM Central Time and ends Sunday at 11:59:59 PM Central Time (the “Contest Week”). Qualifying runs from the start of the Contest Week until Sunday 5:00 PM CT. The Main Event bracket begins Sunday 6:00 PM CT, with each later round opening on a published schedule (about every 15 minutes). Sponsor’s server clock is the official timekeeper. Each Contest Week is a separate contest with its own entries, standings and prizes. Start date: to be announced.
4. How to enter
- Sign in at raceptl.com/weekly, choose your state of residence, choose how many of your free entries to use (1 up to the week’s limit, default the maximum), confirm you meet the eligibility requirements and agree to these Official Rules, and tap Enter free. You may change the number of entries you use until qualifying closes.
- Entry is free. There is no entry fee, no purchase and no in-game credits required. Virtual credits (“NEC”) play no part in this Contest.
- Entries must be completed before qualifying closes. Incomplete, late, or automated entries are void. The entry limit for a Contest Week is fixed once that week’s bracket is built.
5. Qualifying (skill)
- After entering, race qualifying passes on the Contest tree (a Pro .400 practice tree unless the Contest page says otherwise). Each run (“pass”) produces a reaction time.
- Official reaction time is measured by our server, which issues the tree timing and recomputes your reaction time from a signed release timestamp. The time your device displays is not used for scoring.
- A pass is legal only if it is signed and valid, is not a red light (leaving before green), not asleep, and passes our integrity checks. Only legal passes count.
- You get up to 30 passes per Contest Week. Every pass you start counts toward the limit, whether or not you finish it.
6. Seeding, the Main Event bracket and ties
- Qualifying only seeds the bracket. Your qualifying score is the average of your best 3 legal reaction times (lower is better). You need at least that many legal passes to make the bracket. Qualifying ties are broken by (1) the lower single best legal reaction time, then (2) whoever completed their qualifying set first.
- Each entry is a separate bracket slot. Seeds are assigned in tiers: every qualified racer’s first entry is seeded by qualifying score, then every racer’s second entry, and so on. A racer’s entries are placed in different halves, quarters or eighths of the bracket wherever the field allows.
- The bracket is a single-elimination, head-to-head bracket sized automatically to 64, 128, 256 or 512 slots. Byes fill any empty slots and go to the top seeds. If there are more qualified entries than the largest bracket, the lowest seeds do not make the bracket.
- No racing yourself: if two of the same racer’s entries meet, the better-seeded entry advances automatically and the other entry finishes at that round.
- Matches are raced live on RacePTL (best of 1 early, 3 in the semifinals and final), with reaction times measured by our server. The standard RacePTL tie rule for identical results applies.
- Be on time. Each round opens at its scheduled time. A racer who does not show up for a match within the check-in window forfeits that match; if neither racer shows, the better seed advances. Sponsor may rule on disputed or stalled matches.
- If fewer than 8 entries qualify, no bracket is held and prizes are awarded in order of the final qualifying standings.
- Standings and brackets shown during the week are unofficial until Sponsor’s review (section 9).
7. Prizes
Prizes are digital gift cards (brand to be announced). The gift card brand/issuer (brand to be announced) is not a sponsor of, and is not affiliated with, this Contest; the issuer’s gift card terms and restrictions apply. Prizes are awarded by finishing position in the Main Event (1st = champion, 2nd = runner-up, 3rd–4th = semifinal losers, 5th–8th = quarterfinal losers, 9th–16th = round-of-16 losers, and so on; within a group, the better seed ranks first). The prize list for each Contest Week, including the number of prizes and each prize’s value, is shown on the Contest page before and during the week and is incorporated into these rules. The total approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all prizes in any Contest Week is less than $5,000.
Example standard week: 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd–4th $45 each, 5th–8th $20 each (total ARV $470). Example launch week: 1st $800, 2nd $400, 3rd–4th $150 each, 5th–8th $75 each, 9th–16th $25 each (total ARV $2,000).
- Because each entry is a separate slot, one person may win more than one prize position in a Contest Week, up to a limit of 2 prizes per person. Positions beyond that limit, and positions held by disqualified entrants, pass to the next finisher in order, and every later prize moves down one position. Prizes are non-transferable; no cash or other substitution except by Sponsor, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
- Gift cards are subject to the issuer’s terms and conditions. Sponsor is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards once delivered.
- Winners are responsible for any taxes. Any winner of prizes totaling $600 or more in a calendar year must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 and will receive a Form 1099.
8. Winner verification and notification
- Potential winners are notified by email to the address on their account and in the app within about 3 business days after the Contest Week ends.
- A potential winner must reply and confirm eligibility (which may include a signed declaration of eligibility and liability/publicity release, where lawful) within 7 days. If they do not, or if they are found ineligible, the prize is forfeited and may be awarded to the next eligible finisher in order.
- Gift cards are delivered by email to the verified address, typically within 14 days of verification.
- Winners’ racer names (never email addresses) and places may be announced on RacePTL.
9. Fair play, review and disqualification
- Sponsor reviews every Contest Week before confirming winners, including automated integrity signals (for example signature, timing and network anomalies, statistically improbable reaction times, and multiple entrants on one network) and the results of every bracket match.
- Sponsor may disqualify any entrant, void any pass, and forfeit any prize for cheating, bots or automation, multiple accounts, tampering, exploiting bugs, or any conduct that undermines the fair operation of the Contest, in its sole discretion.
- If the Contest is compromised by fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond Sponsor’s control, Sponsor may cancel, modify or suspend the affected Contest Week and award prizes from eligible, non-suspect entries received before the problem.
10. General conditions and release
By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding. Entrants release Sponsor and its affiliates from any liability arising from participation or from a prize, to the extent permitted by law. Sponsor is not responsible for network, device, connectivity or server failures, or for lost, late or incomplete entries or passes.
11. Privacy
Information collected is used to administer the Contest and verify winners, as described in our Privacy Policy. Public standings show your racer name or masked racer tag and car number — never your email.
12. Disputes and governing law
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any dispute is resolved individually, without resort to class action, as described in our Terms (draft).
