Draft — pending attorney review
This document is a working draft prepared for the RacePTL free-play beta. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel and may change during the beta. Version: DRAFT-2026-09-29.
1. What RacePTL is
RacePTL (the “Practice Tree League,” the “Service”) is a free, skill-based drag-racing reaction-time game played on a digital practice tree. It is operated by NumberEdge Racing LLC (“we,” “us”). Modes include solo practice, head-to-head races, brackets/tournaments, rankings and seasons.
Results are decided by skill — your reaction time measured against a server-authoritative tree — never by chance. The official reaction time for every race is computed on our servers, not on your device.
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Rules & Fairness page and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Free play and virtual credits
The Service is currently free to play. Contests, brackets and entries use virtual credits (“NumberEdge Credits,” “NEC,” or “credits”). Credits:
- have no cash value and are not money, currency, property, or a stored-value instrument;
- cannot be purchased — we do not sell credits for cash or anything of value, and no purchase is ever necessary to play;
- cannot be redeemed, cashed out, withdrawn, exchanged, or transferred for cash, gift cards, merchandise, or anything of value, and cannot be sold or traded between users or outside the Service;
- are granted free (for example, as a sign-up grant or a periodic top-up) solely so you can enter contests and track standings;
- may be adjusted, reset, expired, or removed by us at any time (for example, at the end of a season, to correct an error, or for a rules violation), and are forfeited when an account is closed.
Any “prize,” “pool,” “payout,” or “winnings” shown in the Service during free play refers only to virtual credits and has no monetary value. Any buy/cash-out screens, if visible, are disabled previews.
3. Eligibility and age
RacePTL is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to register or use the Service; no one under 18 may create an account. Your date of birth and state of residence are collected at sign-up:
- If you are under 18, do not register. We close any account we learn belongs to someone under 18;
- You must give your true date of birth and residence. Giving false information is grounds for closing your account and forfeiting any rewards;
- Any future prize or paid contest will be limited to racers who are at least 18 (or 21 where required by law) and located in an eligible jurisdiction, with identity verification.
You must provide accurate information and may hold only one account. We may suspend accounts that misstate age or identity.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password secure. Handles and display names must not impersonate others or be offensive. We may reclaim or change a handle that violates these Terms. You may close your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for data requests).
5. Fair play and anti-cheat
Competitive integrity is the product. You agree not to:
- use bots, macros, scripts, auto-clickers, modified clients, input-injection, or any automation to release or stage;
- tamper with, replay, forge, or manipulate timing data, network traffic, device signatures, or race results;
- operate multiple accounts, share accounts, collude with or intentionally lose to another racer, or manipulate rankings or brackets;
- exploit bugs instead of reporting them, or interfere with the Service or other racers.
Automated integrity checks review every result (for example, impossibly fast or scripted lights and duplicate-account patterns). We may void results, reset ratings or credits, remove racers from rankings or brackets, and suspend or terminate accounts for suspected cheating. Each race is stored with a full server timing trail; disputes are reviewed against that audit log, and decisions based on it are final.
6. Race rules and the official button
Race rules — tree types (Sportsman .500, Pro .400), red lights, how a round is won, ranked play and seasons — are published on the Rules & Fairness page and form part of these Terms.
- The official result is always the server-computed reaction time. Your device displays the tree and reports your input; it never decides the winner.
- You may race with a supported keyboard, touch, or mouse input, or with an official RacePTL button (a certified USB device today; Bluetooth planned). Where a mode is marked as requiring certified hardware, only a registered, certified official button is accepted.
- You may not modify, clone, emulate, or spoof an official button, extract its keys, or submit device-signed results from anything other than the certified device registered to your account. Certification may be revoked for tampering.
- Latency, device, and connection differences are part of playing online; we do not guarantee any particular timing accuracy on your own hardware.
7. Conduct and content
Be respectful in chat, profiles, and handles. No harassment, hate, threats, spam, sexual content, doxxing, or illegal content. We may moderate, remove content, and restrict chat or accounts. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host and display content you post in the Service (such as your handle, results, and chat) to operate it.
8. Future real-money or prize contests
We may in the future offer skill-based contests with real-money entry fees or prizes. None are offered today. If and when they launch, they will be governed by separate terms and official rules that you must accept before entering; they will be available only in states and jurisdictions where permitted (and blocked elsewhere), limited to eligible adults, and subject to identity and location verification and responsible-play controls. Virtual credits earned in free play will not convert into real money or prize eligibility. Joining a waitlist does not create any right to participate.
9. The Service, changes, and beta status
The Service is in beta. Features, modes, credits, rankings, and these Terms may change, and the Service may be unavailable, reset, or discontinued at any time. We will post updated Terms here with a new “last updated” date; continued use after an update means you accept it.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NUMBEREDGE RACING LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, RANKINGS, OR VIRTUAL CREDITS. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS FREE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO US $50.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or other racers. On termination, your right to use the Service and any virtual credits ends.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Dispute resolution terms will be finalized before paid contests launch.
